Karla Salcido, Kennedy Green and Kylie Baccam earned National Team Camp Invitations as Team USA Prepares for Upcoming World Mini Football World Cup in October.
DALLAS, TEXAS - Texas Lone Star S.C. is proud to announce that three players from the club were selected to participate in the U.S. Women’s Mini-Football National Team training camp in Dallas last weekend as Team USA continues preparations for the upcoming Women’s Mini-Football World Cup.
Karla Salcido, Kennedy Green and Kylie Baccam were selected to take part in the national team training/ID camp, giving Texas Lone Star S.C. three new representatives in their expanding player pool competing for future opportunities with Team USA.
Salcido brings experience from the Major Arena Soccer League Women (MASLW) environment and WPSL experience, while Green & Baccam had been new additions joining the club for its inaugural WPSL season this summer.
The call-ups represent another milestone for Texas Lone Star S.C. and its commitment to providing players with opportunities to compete at the higher levels of the game.
““One of the reasons we add identification to our national team training camps is to continue to identify possible new players to our player pool. So we can combine preparing/developing our current player pool with looking at new players. The players invited to Dallas camp, including the Texas Lone Star S.C. players, were absolutely great. They are talented, eager to learn, and happy to be a part of what was a very competitive group. Once we get through our training camp in Cincinnati, we will have some tough decisions to make for our final WMF World Cup roster,“ stated Craig Rhodes, Technical Director & U.S. Mini- Football coach.
Texas Lone Star S.C. Owner and President Pia Namdar praised the players for earning the opportunity.
“We were thrilled not only to have the opportunity to see our girls called up for the training camp, but also to see their hard work recognized,” Pia Namdar said. “Opportunities like this are earned, and we are extremely proud of the commitment they have shown to reach this level.”
The U.S. Women’s Mini-Football National Team is preparing for the Women’s Mini-Football World Cup in Croatia this October, where Team USA look to continue its success on the international stage and compete for another world championship.
Two additional training camps are expected to take place ahead of the World Cup, with the final camp scheduled for October, followed by a friendly against Team Canada is also expected as part of the national team’s preparations.
For Texas Lone Star S.C. General Manager and Sporting Director Brad Namdar, the opportunity for players to represent their country carries significance beyond whether they ultimately make the final World Cup roster.
“Being called up to your national team for a training camp is a tremendous honor,” Namdar said. “ We are very proud to have both WPSL, and MASLW players invited, and we also are very appreciative of GOAT who was fantastic in providing quality gear and medical supplies for the Dallas camp. ”
The three new selections from Texas Lone Star S.C.’s amplifies their mission of creating a competitive pathways for women’s soccer players through both indoor and outdoor competition while providing opportunities for players to advance to national and international stages.
