Dallas, Texas — Texas Lone Star S.C. is proud to announce the appointment of Armando Pelaez as Head Coach of its Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) team, marking a significant step forward in the club’s continued growth and commitment to excellence in women’s soccer.
Pelaez brings over 40 years of elite soccer experience spanning professional playing, coaching, and executive leadership at both domestic and international levels. A former professional player and National Team player with an extensive career across North America, South America, and Europe, Pelaez has also made a lasting impact as a coach in the United States.
Pelaez holds a CONMEBOL A Coaching License, USSF A Coaching License, USC (former NSCAA)Premier License, and USSF Youth Soccer License. Pelaez is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, which further enhances his ability to connect with a diverse and ambitious player pool.
As a player, Pelaez’s career includes time with clubs such as Galicia FC, Deportivo Táchira, Deportivo Portugués, and Marítimo de Venezuela (outdoor and futsal), CIV, Dallas Toros (USISL), S.C. Nashville Diamonds (ASL), and appearances with Venezuelan National Teams at both the Olympic and youth levels, along with international training experience with FC Porto in Portugal.
He has coached youth, adults, semiprofessional teams and served as an assistant coach at the MLS level with the Dallas Burn (now FC Dallas).
He has placed players on professional teams, and in many universities.
In addition to his professional coaching background, Pelaez has held roles at the collegiate level and within high-performance development environments, demonstrating a consistent ability to build competitive teams and develop players. His experience extends beyond the field, owning 4 USISL (USL) teams in the past and bringing strong international soccer insight and business acumen, making him a valuable leader both technically and organizationally.

Pelaez will lead Texas Lone Star S.C. into its inaugural WPSL campaign, as the club continues to expand its footprint as one of the few organizations in the country offering both professional indoor (MASLW) and elite outdoor (WPSL Division I) opportunities for women.
