WPSL EXPANSION CONTINUES WITH ADDITION OF TEXAS LONE STARS S.C. FOR 2026 SEASON

OKLAHOMA CITY (JANUARY 29, 2026) — The Women’s Premier Soccer League announces Texas Lone Star S.C. as the most recent addition to the roster of clubs competing in 2026. With the announcement, Texas Lone Star S.C. bolsters WPSL competition while tuning a national spotlight on the Dallas-based club.

“Joining the WPSL is a powerful step forward for our club and for women’s soccer. As a former collegiate athlete and a Latina business owner, I know firsthand how important access, opportunity, and representation are in sports,” Pia Lara Namdar, Texas Lone Star S.C.’s principal owner, said. “Texas Lone Star was built to create pathways for women to continue competing, leading, and thriving beyond college.”

Texas Lone Star S.C. was founded in 2025 with the mission to build a sustainable, player-centered organization committed to providing a higher platform, provide players with opportunities to play at the higher levels of soccer, and create long-term growth for the game of women's soccer. The club fielded its first team in the fall of 2025 competing in women’s indoor soccer’s highest level, the Major Arena Soccer League Women’s (MASLW).

Prior to starting the official MASLW season, Texas Lone Star S.C. sent three players: Emily Juarez, Norma Lopez, and Jordan Lande to the U.S. National Mini Football Team in October. Since its inaugural season, club alumna have also gone on to play professionally in Europe. The 2026 roster is expected to include players with professional experience in Liga MX Feminil and on the international stage.

“From day one, our club was built with keeping the community in mind, as well as, providing a platform for opportunity,” Ryan Moore, Texas Lone Star S.C. co-owner and general counsel, said. “Joining the WPSL strengthens our foundation and positions Texas Lone Star S.C. as a serious platform for women who want to compete, develop, and pursue the game at the highest levels.”

Pia Namdar and Moore are joined by Brad Namdar in the founding and administration of the young club. Pia, a former NCAA Division I swimmer at Southern Methodist University, founded the club to help female athletes transition and thrive after college sports. General Manager and Sporting Director, Brad Namdar, is a soccer executive, collegiate head coach, and former professional player. Moore, an attorney, is an advocate for women’s empowerment and community engagement.

“Growing the game, providing a platform for the growth of women’s soccer in North Texas, that has a unique objective and is what excites me the most about our expansion to the WPSL,” Brad Namdar said. “We are not only a club for players to play for the love of the game, but we are a club that provides a pathway and integrates some of the top talent in North Texas, and other areas domestically and internationally.”

Conference and divisional alignment will be announced Friday, January 30 at the WPSL Annual General Meeting in Frisco, Texas. The 28th WPSL season kicks off in mid-May culminating with the WPSL Championships July 17-19. The 2026 WPSL schedule will be announced in March.
